Could Terrelle Pryor be heading to Buffalo?
NFL.com reports the Oakland Raiders and quarterback Terrelle Pryor will part ways Monday if a deal cannot be reached. A young, confident quarterback with experience as a starter in Oakland, Pryor is an ideal candidate for the Buffalo Bills.
Last season, the Bills dealt with a string of injuries at quarterback, leaving them under the guidance of undrafted free agents Thad Lewis and Jeff Tuel. This year, Manuel’s health is a main concern and the Buffalo Bills are sure to look for ways to upgrade that backup position. Pryor has the athletic type similar to Manuel along with a strong-arm and good height.
Terrelle Pryor played admirably last season. Eventually, erratic play and injury overshadowed the rest of his season. Part of the blame falls on Oakland’s poor blocking. In Pryor’s short stint as a starter he played with confidence in the pocket. The kind of confidence seen in players who want to be the starter…(Remember Vince Young?). The Buffalo Bills could use the pressure from another quarterback in the mix with Manuel. This could give him enough push to become the starter Buffalo fans want him to be. If he gets hurt, Pryor is more than qualified to step into his shoes.
Terrelle Pryor would be an interesting pickup in the situation where things don’t work out with Manuel. NFL.com reports the reason behind Pryor’s leave is that he wanted to be the starter in Oakland. Although the situation isn’t ideal for him, Terrelle Pryor still has a chance to start. He is also a cheap option if the Bills want to add some insurance to the quarterback position before the draft.
Terrelle Pryor should be waived from the Raiders today. What do you think of Terrelle Pryor? Is he an upgrade from Thad Lewis and/or Jeff Tuel? Comment below.
