A couple of days ago, DeSean Jackson was released by the Philadelphia Eagles. Jackson being released was not a big surprise but being so late in the free agency and being released is.
The Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in the newly released wide receiver but only at the right price.
Jackson has had some issues in the past and the Bills heading into this cautiously is a smart move. Personally, when I think of a big target receiver, DeSean Jackson does not come to mind. Jackson does have the number to be a factor as a wide receiver but when I think of a big receiver, I am looking for someone over 6’0 tall and able to make leaps and bounds. Jackson comes across as an Eric Decker or a Wes Welker type receiver more possession and not big play down the field. We don’t need another Robert Woods on this team we need someone that can climb the ladder and make the catches down the field over the corner-backs.
The Jets had reported that they are no longer interested in Jackson and the Raiders are performing a background check on him. Jackson’s first team visit is to the Redskins and that might be the end of it, for the Buffalo Bills and everyone else depending on what Mr. Snyder offers him. If enough, a budgeted team like the Bills with a predetermined price, might not even matter after the first visit.
