The NFL Free Agency started back on March 11th. We are now 13 days removed from the start of free agency and we are now looking towards the NFL Draft. With the hype of the free agency frenzy basically done, and all the big name players basically all of the free agency bored, there has been an abundance of mock drafts and experts analysis as to what teams will do the upcoming draft scheduled for May 8th.
But before we get to the NFL Draft, this past weekend was an NFL regional combine, that was held on March 22nd and 23rd. Also going on right now is the annual meeting in Orlando, Florida and that is to take place from March 23rd through the 26th.
After the owners meeting, the next event occurs on March 29th which will be another NFL regional combine held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Also on March 29th and 30th is a second regional combine that will be held in Owings Mills, Maryland. This regional combine this the last event that will take place in the month of March.
April 7th – clubs that hired a new coach after the 2013 season maybe getting off season workout programs.
April 12th/13th – Super Regional Combine, Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan.
April 21st – clubs with returning head coach of maybe getting off season workout programs.
May 2nd – deadline for restricted free agent to sign off sheets.
May 7th – deadline for prior club to exercise right of first refusal to restricted free agent.
May 8th-10th – what we all have been waiting for for the past 2 months that has seemed to take a month longer than it should have, the NFL Draft!
From what I remember the NFL Draft is usually held in April this year it is a month later. I think we all can agree that they’re definitely dragging this process out a lot more than it needs to be.
