With the Free Agent Frenzy basically over, everybody will begin to focus back to the NFL draft which will be taking place in less than 2 months. As of late, especially with the Buffalo Bills picking up depth for many of their needed positions through free agency, there has been a narrowing of what the Bills are in need of in the first round of the upcoming draft.
Of the latest drafts to be conducted, many of the experts are looking at Buffalo Bills to take either a wide receiver, a tight end or a tackle with their first pick at #9. ESPN’s Charlie Davis is the only one to think the Bills will be drafting a wide receiver with the 9th pick over all and he predicts it to be that of Mike Evans. I believe that Evans will be a better fit into Marrone’s offense than that of Watkins.
As for the ones that have analyzed the Bills to take a tackle, there is debate as to whether or not it will be Jake Matthews or Taylor Lewan. I think that Lewan at the 9th position is a bit high for him in the draft and Matthews is a better fit in the top 10 for a tackle.
The tight end option for the Bills and the analysts is that of Eric Ebron. Ebron seems to be the pick for the Bills at the tight end position at least that is what the experts say. Ebron is a good option but with the re-signing of Chandler, I don’t see the Bills going TE in the first round, maybe 3rd or 4th at this point.
Jake Matthews is a top 10 tackle and if available I think the Bills go that route. If Matthews is gone, look for the Bills to go Evans and bring in a big target for Manuel. If the Bills go Evans at #9, then look for their 41st pick to be a tackle or a safety, with the loss of Byrd.
