The Buffalo Bills started free agency with less than splash that some of us would’ve liked. Although they did come out of the gates and re-signed Dan Carpenter as well as Mike Caussin.
For the rest of the first day free agency they basically stayed quiet. The next day they had visits by Chris Williams as well as Nolan Carroll. Offensive lineman Chris Williams was shortly signed after his visit during the Buffalo blizzard. We later found out that linebacker Keith Rivers was also signed and Corey Graham, cornerback from the Ravens, came back to his hometown of Buffalo and agreed to terms.
We see the bills addressing needs at cornerback linebacker and the offense of line all of which they needed. With the signing of Keith Rivers does this mean that Kiko stays in the middle because Rivers is primarily an outside linebacker or do the Bills look to go and bring in a guy like Brandon Spikes, Who is seen as a strong middle linebacker but only usually plays two downs.
The next biggest need for the Bills that they should address in free agency and soon is the tight end position. Finley is still available but with Finley’s past history of injuries do they look to bring back Chandler, and look to carry for tight ends with Gragg on the team as well. Order they look to carry only three tight ends with Chandler or Finley being the decision to make?
I like Finley as a tight end option but his injuries do scare me. Chandler was productive last year and will be productive again this year but I don’t know if he’s the big-name tight end that can help this offense and help EJ Manuel.
I think at this point looking at free agency and looking at what’s available on the draft Buffalo looks to pick up a tight end in some shape or form. I also believe at this point, with what they’ve done so far, the Bills will look in the first round of the draft to pick up either an offensive lineman or a big receiver like Mike Evans.
