Where do the Bills go with Byrd?

It has been said that the Buffalo Bills are pushing the ‘reset’ button on the contract negotiations with Jairus Byrd.  At least this is what buffalobills.com has stated.

Where do the Buffalo Bills stand with Jairus Byrd and the negotiations? At  this point it is anybodies guess based on Byrd’s lack of responses to Tim Grahams questions while he was at the Pro Bowl on the departure of Mike Pettine.

Lets just say it, Jairus Byrd needs to be resigned by the Buffalo Bills.  Byrd is looking for somewhere in the 9 million dollar range.  Are the Bills looking to go that high?

We looked at a way for the Bills to help themselves with resigning Byrd, but that was shortly thrown under the bus with the hiring of Jim Schwartz.  Is Schwartz enough to keep Byrd?  It is possible that he may resign because of a similar defensive outline.

I thin that the biggest feature that the Bills have to their advantage is the commodore that Byrd has with his teammates in the secondary as well as his DB coach.

The Bills could look at giving Byrd about 7-8 million which would be close to what he got this year with a franchise tag.  I know that it is lower than the franchise tag, but here me out.  The Bills offer the 7-8 million guaranteed.  with maybe an additional signing bonus, but the rest of the 2ish million could come in incentives.  Would Byrd go for it?  It is a possibility.  If the Bills can come close to Byrd’s number and guarantee it and provide the rest with incentives, Byrd would possibly go for it.

It shows the Bills are willing to pay Byrd what he feels he is worth, but it also allows the Bills to maybe get some back if Byrd decides to hold out or not play or get injured or whatever seems to be the case.

In the end, whatever the case may be and where both parties are standing, Byrd needs to be re-signed and brought back.  I will be royally pissed if Byrd signs with the Browns.  I don’t think he will because they are less of a contender than we are, but hey you never know.

Hey, maybe do a little more proofreading before you hit “save”? It really is distracting when you’re reading something, and the spelling /grammar makes you jump mental tracks.

Proper English spelling and grammar aren’t hard to reach for or get – but it can make all the difference in the world when you’re trying to convey things to people. Think about it.
