The Senior Bowl is schedule to kick off at 4:00 pm on January 25th, 2014 in Mobile Alabama. The Senior Bowl will be covered by the NFL Network.
For some collegiate players, the Senior Bowl is the place to get their name out and to boost their draft bids. Two players it helped recently were recent draft picks for the Buffalo Bills, Jeff Tuel and Duke Williams. Both gained exposure due to the Senior Bowl and took advantage of it.
This year will be no different for the players. The rosters are almost final but there are still some spots available for both the North and the South.
The Senior Bowl is mainly for those that are unsure if they will be drafted and this allows them to get some more exposure for themselves. You will not see many players that are projected in the top 20 or even the 1st round for that matter playing in the Senior Bowl. Although I would recommend a player coming from a smaller college that could boost his stock to play in it. One player that fits this rank and is close to home is Khalil Mack, Buffalo. Mack has recently declined the invite to the Senior Bowl and analysts are split as to whether this is going to hurt him or not. I think it will coming from a smaller school, the exposure could only help him.
Some of the players that are going to be playing in the Senior Bowl our staff has already covered in our mock draft posts. Some of the players are projected in our Round 3 draft that will be out this weekend, so keep your eye out for that. These are some of the players that you should keep an eye on: C.J. Fiedorowicz (TE), Iowa, Brandon Linder (G), Miami (Fla.) , Cyril Richardson (G),Baylor, Jordan Matthews, Vanderbilt, Bryan Stork (C), Florida State, and Ja’Wuan James (OT), Tennessee.
