Buffalo Bills making moves in the off-season

The Bills have not sat quietly here in the first part of their off-season.  They have been quite active and are making some moves.

The most recent of moves comes with bringing in 5 move players and signing them to future/reserve contracts. What is a reserve/future contract?  This is a contract that is given to players that are not on anyone’s roster when the 2013 season ended for the team.  The Bills or any other team using this is signing players early, before the official start of free agency opens.  Only players that are not under contract at the time of the season end are eligible for this classifying tag.  These would be players that are on practice squads or players that were completely out of football.

The five players that the Buffalo Bills signed are WR Ramses Barden, FS Jajuan Harley, LB Willie Jefferson, WR Chris Summers, LB Nathan Williams.

With these additions, we can begin to see where the Bills are heading and what direction Marrone is looking to go.  The two wide receivers are 6-6 –  224# and 6-5 – 215# respectively.  These guys are big.  The linebackers are also similar in height, coming in at 6-5 and 6-3 respectively.  Both weighting in just under 250#s.  Harley, the FS is the smallest of them all coming in at 6-1 – 213#.

Buffalo looks to be adding size to their team, much needed size.  All of these guys are within 4 years of being drafted.  They are young and should add some interesting conversations to the mix later on in the off-season.
