Andre Reed Moves On

Andre Reed has made it once again to the sweet 15.  This will be the 8th time that Andre Reed has made it this far and no one more than Reed, at this point, would like to see it through.  Although it isn’t his decision.

There are two other receivers that made it to the sweet 15 with Reed this year and both could be considered, arguably, more important than Reed in their careers.  Reed is going up against both Tim Brown and Marvin Harrison.  This is Harrison’s first time on the ballot.

During his 15 year career with the Bills, Reed was able to rack up numbers that still lead the team today.  Reed leads the Buffalo Bills in receptions, yards, and touchdowns for a wide receiver.

Tim Brown, the long time Raider, played for 1 more season that Andre Reed did.  Brown was able to surpass Reed in numbers with recepetions, yards, and touchdowns.  Although Reed did have a better yards per reception average, but by only .2 yards.

Marvin Harrison, the long time Colt, played three seasons less than did Andre Reed and four less than Brown.  Harrison came away with more receptions than Brown did and less yards.  He also had a lesser yards per average than both Reed and Brown, but considerably more touchdowns.

For Reed, I think it will be a tough road to get into the Hall of Fame this year, with Brown and Harrison up against him.  I think Harrison makes it purely on numbers this year and Brown and Reed will be up again next year.  Will 2015 be Reed’s year, I think he has a better chance up against Brown than he does against Harrison.

Reed deserves to be inducted this year, read the following, then tell me why he’s not worthy… if you can!

    Reed
starred for the Bills from 1985 through 1999. He caught 951 passes for
13,198 yards and 87 touchdowns. When he ended his career, he ranked
fourth in NFL history in catches and sixth in receiving yards.

Reed posted his totals in a more balanced offense
than many modern-era receivers. The Bills ran the ball 51 percent of
the time during Reed’s career. Reed also was durable. He missed just
three games in his first 10 seasons. In 21 postseason games, Reed caught
85 passes for 1,229 yards with nine touchdowns. GO BILLS!!

Brown should get in before both of these guys, for the simple reason he put up these incredible numbers with a rotation of useless QBS for most of his career, while Reed and Harrison both had HOF QBs throwing to them. Brown has waited long enough and Harrison does not deserve to get in before Brown period.

Nothing you or any one else can tell me Andre Reed dose not fall behind Tim Brown, no one! REED was so good in so many ways and besides that him and only one other player had the best yards after the catch than Brown did, that was J. Rice and Andre. Andre had better in-season numbers and more importantly, play off numbers. In fact how many play off games did Brown play in and compare those stats. Andre beats him hands down. As for QB’s he had , great for him but those teams and him did nothing better than Andre Reed and the Buffalo Bills did!! GO BILLS!!

  • Pridenpoise

If you want compare numbers look at Reeds and look at Browns you fucking moron, because numbers are after all your argument. And if reed was so good 0-4 in Super Bowls. Brown did everything better than Reed including return punts. So bite me.

  • Pridenpoise

That’s my point Brown had no QB , but you are to stupid to realize that, we don’t have to worry because you don’t have a vote, Reed might get in but it sure as hell won’t be before Brown. So eat it.

You are a joke of a person with your childish response to a simple argument given freely and honest from me>TERRIBLE BOY/GIRL, STFU! GO BILLS!!

  • chas territo

Reed was so good he didn’t have to return punts, besides you are a moron for comparing punts to this article which is about Wide receivers, not punts!! GO BILLS!!

  • Pridenpoise

Your argument is childish and reeks of bias, and your spelling is that of Five year old, can’t handle the truth, go cry to your mommy. Bitch.

  • Pridenpoise

I think you mean he was to slow to return punts, and it’s about who deserves to go to the HOF, and just another reason Brown gets in before Reed if Reed even gets in, on top of the fact his many more TDs many more receptions and many more Rec Yds. Douche bag.
