Andre Reed Moves On

Andre Reed has made it once again to the sweet 15.  This will be the 8th time that Andre Reed has made it this far and no one more than Reed, at this point, would like to see it through.  Although it isn’t his decision.

There are two other receivers that made it to the sweet 15 with Reed this year and both could be considered, arguably, more important than Reed in their careers.  Reed is going up against both Tim Brown and Marvin Harrison.  This is Harrison’s first time on the ballot.

During his 15 year career with the Bills, Reed was able to rack up numbers that still lead the team today.  Reed leads the Buffalo Bills in receptions, yards, and touchdowns for a wide receiver.

Tim Brown, the long time Raider, played for 1 more season that Andre Reed did.  Brown was able to surpass Reed in numbers with recepetions, yards, and touchdowns.  Although Reed did have a better yards per reception average, but by only .2 yards.

Marvin Harrison, the long time Colt, played three seasons less than did Andre Reed and four less than Brown.  Harrison came away with more receptions than Brown did and less yards.  He also had a lesser yards per average than both Reed and Brown, but considerably more touchdowns.

For Reed, I think it will be a tough road to get into the Hall of Fame this year, with Brown and Harrison up against him.  I think Harrison makes it purely on numbers this year and Brown and Reed will be up again next year.  Will 2015 be Reed’s year, I think he has a better chance up against Brown than he does against Harrison.
