This is the time of year for mock drafts for every team whether in the playoffs or not.  Here at BLD we are going to take the mock draft in a different direction.  We will strictly look at the Bills round by round and will have our staffers contribute their thoughts as to who the Bills pick, what moves they make, and why they made them.  Strictly Bills and BLD here, none of the extra fluff.

Round 1

Tony DiLoreto

Khalil Mack – Buffalo – LB

"“Bills will pick University at Buffalo Linebacker Khalil Mack with their 9th pick. The Bills’ Defense, while vastly improving in 2013, is still full of holes, as seen in their last 5 games giving up huge rushing games to no name runners. Mack should dramatically improve both the run D and fit Mike Pettine’s scheme perfectly.”"

Nathan Gerst

Mike Evans – WR – Texas A&M

"“Evans is an elite wide receiver and would add height to the Bills wide receiver group. Evans is coming off a great college season with 12 touchdowns and is just the type of player who can help Buffalo’s red zone issues. If Buffalo could trade back a few spots and get him it would be great but I worry about the New York Jets going after him as well.”"

Alex Jones

TRADE: Austin Sefarian-Jenkins – TE – Washington

"Buffalo trades with the Cowboys and moves back into the 16th spot. The Bills also will get a 2nd and 3rd round pick for this trade.  They will draft TE Austin Sefarian-Jenkins in the 16th spot."

John Starba

Mike Evans – WR – Texas A&M

"Height is needed at the position and also he would be looked at to be this team’s potential #1 receiver.  Should add immediate talent and help this offense."

Patrick Helper

Khalil Mack – Buffalo – LB

"With the Bills offense struggling, and in need of multiple parts, I think the Bills will try and sure up the defense."

Zach Eldridge

Anthony Barr – OLB – UCLA

"Bills cannot pass up on the speed, strength, and instincts of Barr. Complete tackler and hard hitter while bring the ability to run sideline to sideline with ease; just a total nightmare for offensive lineman and their quarterbacks. Moved from RB to OLB two years ago, ability shows he’s a quick learner and a leader of a defense. Bills can’t afford to miss him."

Graham Corrie

Blake Bortles – QB – Central Florida

"With EJ Manuel’s 3 knee injuries in 2013 the Bills need to ensure that they have a legitimate starting quarterback. There are just too many quality starters in this years draft to pass on all of them with injuries a concern with Manuel. If Manuel comes back and has an outstanding 2014 you still have a good young QB to use as trade bait to a struggling franchise that you will get at least a first round pick in return in the future"

Brad Eickhorn

Jake Matthews – OT – Texas A&M

"The Bills need immediate help in offensive line. Fans can point the finger at E.J. Manuel all they want, but he played behind a subpar offensive line. Losing Levetrie and Urbik were big blows that weren’t addressed in free agency or the draft. Ryan is by far the most talented linemen going into the draft. This should be a no-brainer."

Dennis Amo

Greg Robinson – OT – Auburn

"The Bills biggest need right now is at the offensive line.  They need to be able to protect Manuel and give him the time that he needs.  While there are other needs the Bills have, this is the major one.  I like Jake Matthews for the Bills but don’t think he will last to the 9th spot.  I see 2 OT going in the top ten with the Bills taking Greg Robinson with their pick to sure up their O-Line issues.  They will move Glenn to guard and bring in Robinson to take the left tackle spot."

Will Kash

Mike Evans – WR – Texas A&M

"The Bills need to add a receiver who has the size and ability to be a major red-zone contributor. Adding Evans will help the Bills red-zone offense as well as EJ Manuel’s development."
