The Buffalo Bills will need to play Sunday without their number 1 Wide Receiver. Stevie Johnson has something more important to take care of. Johnson found out last Saturday that his mother had passed away, but he chose to stay with his team and play on Sunday. This week Johnson is with his family in California
“I don’t believe that he will be available for our game on Sunday and I think it’s important we realize this tragedy, and our thoughts and our prayers are with Stevie and his family,” Marrone said, via the Buffalo News. (Pro Football Talk)
This is one of those cases where football means very little; it doesn’t matter how you feel about Johnson as a Bill. For at least this week there will be very little talk about dropped balls, or poorly ran route. For at least this week Johnson deserves a pass, and our condolences. Far too often fans forget that players have off field lives, and they still have to deal with life issues.
This will be the third time this season the Johnson will not be available. The Bills have gone 1-1 so far in games this year when Johnson has not dressed.
