The Buffalo Bills came into week 15 going up against more than just the Jacksonville Jaguars. They were fighting themselves as well. With Manuel lacking confidence and Johnson and Chandler having issues hanging on to the ball, the Buffalo Bills had to go back to basics with their rookie quarterback.
The first quarter was extremely slow for the Bills with not apparent improvement anywhere on the offense. The defense was able to keep the Bills in the game in the first quarter.
The Bills came out out in the second quarter and were able to put up points with 2 touchdowns and a field goal in their last three possessions for the first half.
Throughout the game the offense was shaky and inconsistent, especially E.J. Manuel. Robert Woods, Jackson and at times Spiller were able to show up and move the ball for the offense.
The consistent group again was the Buffalo defense. They were able to get pressure on Henne and take him to the ground throughout the game. They were able to cause turnovers both on the ground and in the air. They made the stops they needed to gave the offense excellent field position on more than one occasion.
I touched on a point that Buffalo was in need of a WR or a CB in an earlier post. If Buffalo has an early enough draft pick, 5-7th, which is where they were slated in this weeks mock draft, do they looked at bringing in Johnny Manziel to give Manuel a little more competition? I personally don’t think that they need to go to that extreme but they will need something to get Manuel going.
What happens next year when we are in the same spot as we are now? Do we say that Manuel is going through the Sophomore Slump? Manuel needs to find himself and his game and find it fast.
