Well, week 14 is over and we move on to week 15. It would be great if it was just that simple. The wheels have fallen off people. At a best record of 7-9 at this point which would be truly a Christmas miracle, the Bills are done for the season.
Really, who can we blame for this loss. Manuel looked like a rookie in his first ever game. Jackson and Spiller, AGAIN, were not an effective duo, the penalties cost the Bills a number of plays both on offensive and on defense, the referees missed a number of calls for the Bills and pussyfooted around other calls for the Bucs, and the play calling by Hackett was questionable at best. If I see another shotgun draw to the left tackle, I might just scream.
Buffalo is notorious for not showing up against teams that are worse than them and this game was no different.
For blame, I really can’t pinpoint it to one person or play, it was a group effort and a group loss. They looked like they gave up in the 4th quarter.
The defense would be, really the only group that played ok. They were put into some bad spots with the offensive turnovers, thanks E.J., Stevie and Leodis. The defense held Glennon in the 2nd half to negative yards and basically stopped the running game altogether for the Bucs. The offensive group left E.J. out to dry and in no way helped this team out.
After losing, now 5 straight, there needs to be some major adjustments and changes that need to happen to energize this team and dropping one play and bring in another that may or may not play this year is just not going to do it at this point.
