Coming into week 14 the Buffalo Bills are sitting at a measly 4-8. Doug Marrone is two wins away from tying his predecessor for a 6-10 record; one of the reasons Gailey was released from his head coaching responsibilities.
Buffalo faces off against the Bucs and Jags in their next two games and should meet that 6 win record this year. The interesting part is with 4 games left, they are still mathematically in playoff contention. They currently sit in the 14th spot in the AFC, which may seem like an insurmountable task to climb up 8 spots to the last wild card but within those 8 spots the best team is only at 6-6, Ravens and Dolphins.
Besides the Ravens and Dolphins, the Titans, Steelers, Chargers, Jets, Raiders and Browns stand in front of the Bills.
For the games this week to keep and eye on, there are a couple of games that featured teams that are in front of the Bills. One game to keep an eye on is the Dolphins Steelers game. With the Dolphins at 6-6 and the Steelers at 5-7 and the Bills playing the Dolphins later in the year, the Bills would need the Dolphins to win this one. The Steelers have an easier schedule remaining and the Dolphins will have all AFC East opponents to finish out the season.
The next game to watch will be the Raiders/Jets game. This is a game of bad and worse teams. The Raiders are sitting at 4-8 and the Jets at 5-7. A Jets loss will put them out of the running completely and the Raiders won’t win out with the Chiefs, Chargers and Broncos as their last three games. Buffalo needs the Raiders to win.
Other games to watch will be the Broncos and the Titans, New England and Cleveland, Giants versus the Chargers, and the Vikings facing off against the Ravens. The Bills will need the Broncos, Patriots, Giants and Vikings to win this week which doesn’t seem to be to far of a stretch.
If this all occurs and the Bills win, they will be sitting at 5-8 while the 6th spot for the playoffs will be 1 game ahead at 6-7. It is still a possibility.
