Earlier than most thought the Bills will finally have their future franchise quarterback back under center as the Bills take on Pittsburgh this Sunday. You never want to see a player go down and get hurt but when it’s your future QB a lot of people take notice and want to know all the facts. Not saying others aren’t important but this now being a QB driven league makes it a lot more important. That being said is anyone worried that Manuel will get hurt again or more importantly put himself in a position to get hurt?

Watching the tape over and over again people seen that Manuel on the play when injured had done everything needed to keep his teams drive alive but wanted to make more out of it. I have no problem with that part of it but when you’re in his shoes he has to know how important he is to this organization. I believe I remember people talking up how smart EJ was coming out of college and that is definitely a positive but it has to continue in the NFL. Going through two injuries already and basically only half way through his first season has me thinking how well he will be over a longer period of time? Will this happen every season or will a major one occur were he could be out a year or possibly longer? Another thing to think about is what EJ had said earlier this week about the injury. The words “freak accident “came out and nothing about him saying he can’t be doing that stuff anymore until after the fact. First out of his mouth in my opinion should have been I can’t be doing that anymore. This week as he eases back in we will begin to see if he has smarten up or if he will go back to his old ways.

Another thing that I will be watching is his production. What happens if you can’t see any change in play this Sunday? Fans are going to be angry and questioning the pick in my eyes because guys that arguable don’t belong on an NFL roster has played respectable in EJ’s absence. I hope the guy this team seen in college can become a good starting quarterback and lead this team. If that doesn’t happen, QB talk will happen again and the upcoming draft could be interesting. Let’s hope everything works out but if not Aaron Murray would look good in a Bills uniform next season.
