C.J. Spiller has been dealing with an injured ankle for almost half of the season at this point. He has missed 1 week so far due to the injury and fought through it for what seemed to be an eternity but was only about 4 weeks.
Spiller came into practice yesterday not being listed on the injury report. Is he healthy?
“I did talk to him again and asked how he felt and he said he felt good so that’s exciting,” said Marrone. ”As soon as someone comes off the injury report then I’m thinking he’s full go.”
Spiller is likely to get more touches with the ball than he has in recent. In the games before his injury Spiller was averaging almost 19 touches a game, both running and receiving. The last 4 games he has only averaged 10 touches a game.
Even when Spiller has been injured, the Bills and fans have seen is explosive nature. Every time he touches the ball, he can make an explosive play and turn the momentum if needed.
Fantasy owners should be happy that Spiller will get more touches this week. Although last week he only had 12 touches, he came away with 15.50 points, his most the entire year. The Steelers defense is also giving up the 6th most points to RBs this year. Could be worth your time to start him.
Marrone also said that Spiller’s touches would be determinate on the how the game is going and how he is playing and feeling as well. As of right now, I say there is a good chance that we see Spiller in the 20 touch range this week.
