EJ Manuel came back to practice last week and was a limited participant and worked individually. Marrone has never really given us a time table as to when he would be back and ready to play but based on what we have seen and heard so far, it could be soon.
Manuel sustained a sprained LCL ligament during the Browns game on Thursday night. Manuel has not been in practice until last week due to the swelling in his knee. Last week, the swelling was down enough for him to begin to work and come back.
Manuel is set to practice this week and has begun to work on routes with his receiving corps. Stevie Johnson gave us a little insight on where Manuel currently is…
“He just threw to us routes versus air,” said Johnson of passes he and his fellow receivers caught from Manuel in practice last week. “He didn’t throw in practice. We’ve got to take as much pressure off his legs because of the injury, but he said he’ll be ready Sunday and after that there are no excuses.”
Based on this it looks like EJ Manuel is set and ready to go this Sunday. It will be a welcomed relief to have Manuel back in the lineup. Lewis did a great job filling in for Manuel but Lewis is no Manuel and either is Tuel.
This could not have come at a better time for the Buffalo Bills. With only 7 games remaining and by far their easiest part of the schedule coming up, they are technically still in contention for the playoffs. They would have to win out and finish 10-6 and have just a little help from some other teams. The possibility is still there.
