As we start the second half of the season, the Bills are close to the top in the defensive category of team and individual sacks. As are the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are sitting in the top spot for team sacks, 36.0 and the Bills are in second with 27.0.
Individually Mario Williams, BUF and Justin Houston, KC both are in 2nd place with 11.0 sacks on the season and are only a half sack away from the lead, held by Robert Mathis, IND.
Will Mario Williams be able to get to Alex Smith today?
I think Williams will not only get to Smith, but he will be in conference with him all day. I believe that Williams, at the end of the day, will have the top honors for sacks. Kansas City has given up 24 sacks so far this year, which puts them in the 9th spot overall for sacks allowed. For this reason, I think that Williams will be alone at the top at the end of the day.
As for Justin Houston, the Buffalo Bills have given up 28 sacks so far which lands them in the 4th spot, tied with Jacksonville and Cleveland. I think that the Bills will prepare for Houston and will make sure that either Lewis or Tuel will not have the same thing happen as last week, watching the game from their backs.
