The Bills have always been known as a one half team, at least in the past couple of years.  They either start out strong in the beginning and lose it in the end or they struggle to stay in it early and then are playing catch-up.

We really could be talking about either games or seasons, when looking at the Bills.

Today we are talking about the season.  The Bills are half way through the 2013-14 season and are staring down at the Chiefs who come into town this week at 8-0.

For the rest of the season, ESPNs Mike Sando broke down the remaining schedules and the Bills happen to fall in the top 5 for easiest remaining schedules.  The actually come in at number 4.

“Easiest remaining strength of schedule: #Lions .345, #Packers .403, #Seahawks .407, #Bills .417, #Bengals .421, #Jaguars .424, #Titans .433″.

Fourth is pretty good for the Bills and even better for their playoff hopes.  They first need to get past the Chiefs and then 3 more division games later on.  They need 7 of their remaining 8 games as wins to have the greatest possibility for a playoff shot, 10-6.

The Bills actually back into the number 1 spot for the easiest strength of schedule for road games.  Mike Sando also provided this information.

“Easiest SOS for remaining road opponents: #Bills .267, #Redskins .267, #Dolphins .300, #Lions .345, #Cardinals .400, #Texans .400″.

This is excellent news for the Bills and their fans, this provides a glimmer of hope.  They just need to cash in on it.

With Thad at the helm, no freaking way does playoffs happen! EJ is needed more than ever for us to make the fantasy come true. I see nothing better than average with Lewis as our QB, my god, you saw, I assume yesterday’s game, right? He is what he is, a back up! Thank the heavens Tuel didn’t come in when Thad had that rib cage hit happen. With Tuel we have a gnats chance in hell to go more than 0-? GO BILLS!!

I agree Chas, but can they pull a win or two out for when EJ comes back for the end of the season?

Chiefs fan here, just figured I’d check out the upcoming opponent pages… so is CJ Spiller/ Stevie Johnson going to play? I am not sure what the dang deal is, but somehow every important player for each team finds a way to be injured when they play the Chiefs, resulting in us getting 8 “cheap” wins… Chiefs/ Bills game last year still tastes bad, but if we happen to come out with a win, I’d like it against as full strength a Bills team as possible… Go Chiefs!

I think a healthy Spiller and Manuel will come in handy after the bye week. Until then we’re just going to have to save face against Kansas City and beat the Jets. The most important game has to be that divisional matchup in week 11.

    Hey Pete,
As of right now, both are expected to play. Spiller should be close to 100% if not all the way there and Johnson will be a limited participant early this week and should be back and ready to play on Sunday. Go Bills!
