The Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback started his rehab ahead of schedule yesterday. This is good news, as Manuel was able to be ahead of schedule with his left knee sprain during the preseason and make it back in time for the season opener against the Patriots.
At this point, there is no timeline as to when he will return only that he is ahead of schedule and that a timeline should be able to be determined by the the end of the week.
“Obviously they think he’ll be back,” said Marrone. “His first injury he came back very quickly. He’s a young kid and he’s healed well. He’s had some misfortune. Obviously they ran some tests on him and it worked out well and now when he starts the rehab process to see where he is when he begins it that’s when they’ll be able to an exact timeline.”
The Buffalo Bills and Doug Marrone have scrambled since the injury to Manuel signing their fourth QB this week to provide a little bit of insurance at the QB spot. The question at hand should be whether or not they are able to produce and lead the Bills to a win? Lewis is a good possibility as is Tuel, but if the Bills get down into the third QB, Flynn, with injuries, not knowing the playbook at this point could hurt Flynn as well as the Bills until he is up to speed.
