Four games into this season the Bills I think have the record I would have predicted. The way they achieved this 2-2 mark however I would not have guessed but has showed me this team is going in the right direction. EJ Manuel looks like he has the tools to be a good quarterback in this league but is he not getting the guidance he needs?
EJ winning the job in training camp was great in my opinion seeing how high the team invested in him during this past draft. Battling Kevin Kolb it is was pretty cut and dry Manuel was to play even before both of their injuries.
My question to this Bills organization is does EJ have all the guidance possible in order to succeed? What I mean by that is besides the coaching staff who can Manuel talk to for tips and/or questions? Not knowing the complete status of Kolb but I’m pretty positive I haven’t seen him on the sidelines during these first four games.
Tuel being this team’s backup to me is just not the right move. I think the hopeful future of the franchise needs all the possible material he can gather and what better way to provide that then with a veteran that has been around the league. That gameplay and just knowing different things about teams throughout the league is something Manuel is getting deprived of. Back to Tuel I have always thought he has been nothing better than a 3rd string guy at best but now fans especially me would dread the day EJ can’t play in a game and would have to rely on him to step in.
I know it’s a touchy subject as many people liked Tuel in training camp but what do you think about this idea? Would EJ benefit from a vet that could give him pointers that some of his coaches couldn’t? As of right now it looks like nothing will be done but if they were to do this would you be in favor?
