OK so we are just almost a day removed from the upset the Buffalo Bills put on the Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens.
Overall, I believe that the Bills played very well. There were some hiccups along the way but they were able to recover and get their feet set so to say.
The defensive secondary had a great day with 5 interceptions. Aaron Williams looked extremely comfortable back in his corner back role, and I had been saying it in the beginning that the switch was going to be made. Nickell Robey and Rogers played extremely well also, being able to hold Torrey Smith and Marlon Brown. Searcy came away with some big defensive plays as did Jim Leonhard who had an interception. The linebacking crew was all over the field as well led by rookie Kiko Alonso with 2 interceptions. Manny Lawson also came away with a sack as did Mario Williams. When the defensive line gets pressure the Bills will win the game.
A couple of stumbles by the Bills defense would be the deep ball that they had trouble being able to defend. This is where some of the points came for the Ravens, but with a limited secondary the fault cannot be completely on them.
The Bills offense looked good yesterday as well. Spiller and Jackson were able to move the ball and Manuel took shots down the field. The Manuel/Woods connection happened again with a 42 yard TD. Johnson was able to get into the mix as well. Manuel at times did not look like he was in control of the flow of the game and I think this hurt the Bills and the momentum that they had at times. He also had a couple of mistakes with 2 interceptions and 1 fumble as well.
If the offense can get on the same page they were on back against New England and the Panthers and the defense can be on pace with this past game, the sky is the limit for this Bills team and we can expect great things out of them.
