Not one. Not two. Not three or four, but 4.5. That’s right 4.5 sacks out of Mario Williams. I say this every podcast, but Mario needs to live up to his salary. He did it in last week’s win over Carolina. He and his fellow linemen must do it again against rookie QB, Geno Smith, and the New York Jets. They don’t need to bring him down every time, but if they can bring constant pressure and force bad throws, they could make life for Rex Ryan and company very difficult.
E.J. Manuel appeared as though he had ice water pumping through his veins. If he can keep his poise, and Geno Smith throws at least three interceptions, it seems as though it’s a given that he’ll outshine his competition. However, this game can’t rest on just one player. C.J. AND Fred need to run well. Stevie and the receiving corp needs to make those easy catches. This is a winnable game, and anything short of a close game would be a disappointment.
This week on the Buffalowdown.com podcast myself and Sean Eichkorn discuss:
- Who wins the rookie quarterback matchup?
- Will we see more like last week out of Mario Williams?
- Is Doug Marone already a better head coach than Rex Ryan?
- Will we see anything out of the Jet’s ground game?
