This game will definitely be one to remember as the new look Bills captured their first victory in the last few seconds but let’s not forget about the defense especially Mario Williams. Today he showed everyone why this Bills organization got him and proved he can still be a dominate player in this league.

Just from a few games I think everyone can tell this Bills defense has certainly improved. More pressure, different looks and also making those necessary adjustments (during the game) has this defense playing well. There is still room to improve but with the injuries they have had to deal with I think they have done a good job. Mike Pettine has done a great job so far getting these guys ready and I think it will only get better.

Williams today just had everything going his way. Being able to get that pressure and beating his guys had the Panthers O line constantly worrying about him. Today Mario just didn’t beat his own personal best of 3.5 sacks back in 2007 but also now has the Bills best single game sack record at 4.5.

Knowing about everything he has gone through over the past year I couldn’t be happier for the guy. The transition to Buffalo and the coaching staff last year just had to be a joke. The worst defense I’ve ever seen them play and was still able to record 10.5 sacks. That along with his wrist injury didn’t make it a good first season for fans as they always mocked the contract and that he wasn’t living up to it (no one worth $100 million sorry).

This year didn’t really start off all that well for Mario with the injury in training camp and everything that went on with the engagement ring. His personal life sure made its way out from this story and nothing had come good from it.

That aside I think Mario is ready for another good year but this time it will be seen differently.  Cleared from distractions and getting healthier I can only see him getting better.  How do you see it?  It’s only one game or is Mario ready to contribute more weekly?
