As we basically are now counting down the days to that first regular season game this team will have a lot of firsts this year. From the front office to the players this team for sure will be different in all aspects of the game. The offense, defense and most importantly the QB have been focused on the most but who you haven’t heard a ton about lately is arguably the most ready receiver out of this year’s draft.
Robert Woods was selected by the Bills in the 2nd round (41st overall) of this past draft. I can remember when he was drafted it was said the Bills got a steal and a great pick as most thought he was going to go earlier. Playing at USC he exceled and became a very good receiver. Also during college he had some returning duties. Some highlights of his were: breaking the schools all time record for catches in a game 15 and also tied a school record with 3 td receptions in a game.
Since his time with the Bills he has been on the quiet side as he hasn’t done anything to draw attention. Everything from EJ, the defense, Jairus Byrd, Bradham and a brand new coach have kept the press busy and Woods has been able to go about his business.
Essentially given the #2 WR spot before camp I believe that has remained to be true as we wait for the Pats to come into town. His vision, route running and hands make him a threat and this team is very fortunate to have him. He along with Stevie and one of the speedsters makes this offense a potentially explosive one and let’s not forget about the running game.
So as Sunday is days away I will be watching this team to see if they have what it takes to play with the big boys. One thing is for sure the guy who was quiet throughout the offseason getting ready will be the one making noise come the regular season.
