The preseason is over and the Buffalo Bills did not do complete horrible. There were definitely some positives that came out of the preseason and will provide hopeful excitement to Bills fans across the nation.
EJ Manuel went down with minor knee surgery after the 2nd preseason game and was a question mark to return in time for the week 1 game against the Patriots. Marrone has named Manuel the starting quarterback for week 1. I think that this adds to the win column for some of the games.
Here are my predictions for the up coming season.
With as much as I want the Bills to win and make the playoffs, I cannot see them opening to a win against the Patriots. I would love to be proven wrong here and hope that I am, but game 1 they start out with a loss.
The next five games they will face the Panthers, Jets, Ravens, Browns and Bengals in this order. Realistically, they should win against the Panthers, Jets and Browns. Ravens and Bengals, I think that the Ravens is a loss and the Bengals will be a close game and a toss up at this point. I will give them a win here. They stand at 4-2 after 6.
The next five are the Dolphins, Saints, Chiefs, Steelers, and Jets. They win against the Dolphins, Chiefs, and Jets. Losses to the Saints and Steelers. This puts them at 7-4 after 11.
Week 12 – Bye
The last five games are against the Falcons, Bucs, Jags, Dolphins, and Patriots. They lose to the Falcons, Dolphins and Pats. Win against Bucs and Jags. This leaves them with a 9-7 record. I don’t think it will be playoff bound, but just on the outside looking in. For Buffalo Bills fans this is definitely an improvement from last year.
