Back in 2010 the Bills took Troup in the 2nd round and had hopes of him being a great piece to the defense for years to come but things haven’t played out that way so far. Playing his college ball at the University of Central Florida he played all four years and progressing every year he became a captain in his senior year.
After playing 21 games in his first two seasons Torell has not played since. A back injury that was very frightening had people wondering if he would ever return to the game. He had a herniated disc removed and suffered a fracture of the spine. These injuries are not what he nor the Bills wanted to deal with seeing how much they invested in him but that aside both sides just wanted to see him recover.
As this year’s camp rolled around Troup was excited and ready to finally show this team what he has again and also show them he has battled back from his injury. I would say he had an up and down camp but not terrible by any means. For what he went through I think he did well but what will the coaches think? He’s in a battle with four guys and two spots are believed to be available. Jay Ross, Corbin Bryant and Jarron Gilbert are the others looking for a spot. I think from what I’ve seen so far Troup will get one spot and Bryant will get the other one. With the game tonight it will be the last time to get a look at some of these guys and they will be giving all they got. I definitely will be watching this tonight.
So the question then becomes will this be his last game in a Bills uniform? I think he will make it as this coaching staff has said they don’t judge from one’s past and Torell has done enough in my opinion. Anyone else thinks he makes it? / Doesn’t?
