Nigel Bradham Charged With Possession Of Marijuana

As the Bills continue to move on their journey towards the start of the regular season we now have our first problem that I can recall dealing with a player. Nigel Bradham was issued an appearance ticket for marijuana in the Town of Tonawanda where he was pulled over at 2:01am early Saturday Morning for a window tint violation. Bradham from reports tried to deny any drugs within the vehicle but shortly after the discussion with the officer revealed what he had.

Bradham last season had a pretty good rookie year and with the experience he gained I thought would be pegged for a breakout sophomore campaign. He playing alongside Alonso has been very good from all reports. I hope this instance doesn’t take away from what these guys will look to do this season but we will now wait to hear what could be handed down as a suspension from the league or right from the Bills organization.

The thing I first thought about was Mike Pettine. Did he at any time tell his players if you get caught doing something you shouldn’t you will be dealt with? I’m sure something was said but a drug charge may be something bigger that this team doesn’t want to deal with. I’m not saying cut the guy but maybe a multiple game suspension from the team if the league doesn’t do anything. I could just seeing something happening down the line and a player getting suspended from this same instance and if nothing’s done here players will be looking back at it. I think Nigel put himself in a situation where this has to be dealt with so these guys know this organization does not want to deal with these actions.

What do you think about the whole situation? You can check out the Tonawanda News article as well here.

I am a United States Army Veteran and due to an illness, need narcotic painkillers. Due to that, I cannot ingest any illegal substances or risk losing my medical coverage. I get urine tested at random, it could be as often as every other week or every six weeks and anything in between. Now that may not equate to possible millions of future dollars like might have been in his future but HOW F’ING STUPID CAN YOU BE??? You can’t refrain from getting baked so you can earn? You’ve destroyed your reputation, will forever be known as someone who can’t be relied upon to make the right decisions and too stupid to know not to tint your windows and then carry pot around. Sorry, in my book, I’d cut him for a MASSIVE lapse in judgement and lacking the simple common sense to not transport weed in a car with dark enough windows that you might get pulled over. That’s just about as idiotic as someone transporting drugs in a car with the lights off at night, a tail light out, a headlight broken or putting a giant pot leaf sticker on the back of your VW van. I personally don’t want that level of moronic behavior on my team! I’m not even against pot, I think the laws should be changed as it’s so much less destructive than alcohol, still, it’s illegal here! But for crying out loud, be a freaking professional. Sorry Nigel, you can party your ass off after you retire, but wake up now, you might find a home in Dallas or Oakland, but I can get over losing you, at least until you either grow up, or become “aware”.

First off thanks for doing what you have done for this country and hope the best with your illness. Bradham really did something that can’t be overlooked and will have some consequences. As a pro you simply can’t do this. When these pro’s put themselves in these situations I don’t think they realize they aren’t only making themselves look bad but the organization as well.

I think marijuana should be legal, but it isn’t legal and everyone knows that. Bradham also knows that pot is illegal, but he is foolish enough to risk a career that could provide him with security for the rest of his life. He proves that you just can cure stupid. He should be summarily cut from the team to let the others know that there is zero tolerance for disregard for the rules.

I don’t know about just straight out dropping the guy. If we was elite would you be saying that? I think a suspension is likely. After that we’ll see what the organization does to hopefully stop this from happening again.
