Hopkins takes down Lindell

The Buffalo Bills have released kicker Rian Lindell. Lindell has been with the Bills for 10 years and is the most accurate kicker in Bill’s history with an 83.3 percent accuracy on field goals.
Newcomer Dustin Hopkins is now the full time kicker for the Bills. Hopkins took out Lindell with his stronger leg. He has 3 touchbacks on 7 kickoffs (something that Lindell has struggled to do in the last couple of years) and has not missed a field goal or extra point yet through 2 pre-season games. Lindell is still one of the most accurate kickers around it is just his leg strength in regards to Kickoffs and very long field goals where Hopkins had the upper hand in the competition. As I said in an earlier article, a long field goal at the end of the game can make a big difference in your win totals at the end of the year.
Rian Lindell has been a class act since he started with the Bills and today was no exception. Hopkins, the guy who had just beaten him out for his job found out from Lindell himself when Rian phoned to congratulate him and wish him luck.
Now it`s our turn to wish you luck Mr. Lindell.
Thank you for everything you have done for the Bills over the last 10 years. You were a lone shining light in a pretty dark decade.
I would not be surprised if you were not out of work for very long.
