Chalk it up how ever you want, the Bills curse, bad luck or God just hates us, but E.J Manuel has some swelling in his knee and will be out for the remainder of the preseason. Kevin Kolb has been named the starter for the upcoming game against the Redskins.
“EJ Manuel had some swelling in his left knee this morning and was examined by our medical staff. An MRI revealed that he will need to have a minor knee procedure and that has been scheduled. He will miss the remainder of the preseason and then be re-evaluated at that time. Kevin Kolb will be our starting quarterback for this weekend’s game at Washington. Additionally, wide receiver Kevin Elliott has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.”
This was the team statement regarding the Manuel situation. Kevin Elliott, tearing his ACL is a lost but only allows one of the other 12 wide receivers to get some playing time in.
If Manuel comes back in time for the opening game against the Patriots, I don’t think that Kolb is able to dig himself out of the hole he has put himself into to win the starting job. In my eyes it is still Manuel’s even though he will be out.
