Jamie Blatnick is a guy that is eyeing up a roster spot on this team and I believe he will be a part of this team’s 53 when it’s all said and done. All he has done is come into this camp and produce from day one.
Blatnick entered this league undrafted and was with the Broncos organization before he eventually was released. You would think with the lack of experience and just pro game play in general he would be hesitant with his play but that definitely hasn’t been the case. There have been plenty of days where he’s all over the field and especially giving those offensive linemen a hard time. That play is what this coaching staff is looking for and which I think will turn into a spot and playing time this year.
Jamie played his college football at Oklahoma State and had ok numbers. In 51 games he had some stats that looked like: 118 tackles, 24 stops for a loss and 16 sacks. His size no matter where he’s played has helped him at 6’3” 253lbs.
As the Bills played their 2nd game of the preseason a play that Blatnick definitely will not forget was his TD fumble recovery. That play was basically the only bright spot looking at it from a scoring standpoint before EJ came into the game. The defense has played relatively well and impressed me how much pressure they can dial up.
So as we inch closer to the start of the season here is one guy that some may have not known about or thought had any chance of cracking that 53 man squad. His TD may be what he needed to strengthen his chances. Any thoughts on Blatnick?
