Coach Doug Marrone has done something I have never seen in all my years of following the Bills, he instituted a “Push Day” in training camp. After participating in a live scrimmage that featured over 100 play’s on Tuesday the Buffalo Bills had a single day to rest, then came back to a practice that was not intended to be kind to aching bodies. Marrone is conditioning his team and we’re not talking about just the players.
After blaring loud music at training camp Thursday morning to pump up his team he told the press “yeah I had to get the coaches going and the trainers going, you know I mean i did that and its just a point of my responsibility to make sure I get the best out of this football team. ” then after a few words said “I dont want to make it sound like hey I put the music on for the players, I put it on for everybody. I wanted everybody… everyone has to step it up and we’re in there with them.”
Marrone is doing something unbillievable in Buffalo as we speak, and nobody see’s it coming because the Bills have been so habitually horrible for over a decade. Nobody is willing to give this team a considerable thought for Super Bowl contention, but I’m telling you right now that Doug Marrone is preparing the Buffalo Bills for just that. Not just Marrone either, I cant reasonably take attention away from Nathaniel Hackett or Mike Pettine. These are coaches that are technically sound and have a reputation for excellent play. They demand excellence from the players on the field but are willing to work through the problems.
The Buffalo Bills will be a team this year unlike anything you have ever seen in the past. They will absolutely make the playoffs this year, and they should be considered serious Super Bowl contenders for the foreseeable future. Because of Doug Marrone, Doug Whaley and Russ Brandon the Bills are headed in a direction that will be far more positive than what us Bills fans have had to endure for the past 13 years. I understand that I come off way too optimistic for such a routinely horribly team, but honestly tell me that we cant beat any team in the league with the offensive and defensive weapons we have. What do you fans think? Can the Buffalo Bills shock everybody and reach the Super Bowl this year?
