The last few days it seems all we hear about at Bills camp is the apparent injury Mario Williams has suffered. How it happened? Where it happened and also when are just some of the questions Mario will be asked when he finally returns to St John Fisher. All of this attention was ok for a day and maybe even a second but coach Marrone already addressed the issue and told everyone he will give more information when he gets it. Have we forgotten about our potential future franchise quarterback?
Ever since Manuel’s name was called when the Bills selected him in the 1st round of this year’s draft he’s been a man on a mission. Doing everything he can to prepare and while on the field he has shown glimpses of things fans would like to see for years to come. There’s always things these players will need to work on even including the veterans but it’s always how you conduct yourself especially him being a 1st round pick.
So far in camp I have seen a little and also heard from others that he has been the better of the two quarterbacks (Kolb) fighting for that starting position. The way he hits his receivers in stride downfield is something we all wish he can do throughout the season. It just looks effortless when he throws the ball deep and that will for me anyways will take some time to sink in that we have a guy that can do that. We see it all the time on highlights and while watching the games but to now think we can have one of these guys is great.
With all these positives and upside to a potential star at quarterback we are still talking Mario Williams. Reports came out late today that he was going to get a second opinion on his foot but is expected to be fine. I know he is the 100 million dollar man but we now have a chance to put in a guy that could help us win for years to come. I don’t know about you but I’ll be watching and listening to reports from EJ even if Mario continues to steal the spotlight.
