After being sidelined the first practice of training camp with a sore foot, Mario Williams was not even at St. John Fisher for the 2nd day of camp. The news came as quite a surprise for many after such a seemingly smooth OTA completion just 6 weeks ago, and the big question that remains is ‘how serious is it?’. That questions of course has no answers at this time and we are left to let our imaginations run wild about what is going on with super Mario.
Mario Williams is a player that cant even spill his gatorade without it making headlines in the papers, and his words are often twisted to generate reading material. Understanding that, how serious is a sore foot? Surely there is enough time before week 1 to correct soreness, right?
We have already seen the Eagles lose Jeremy Maclin for the season after suffering a torn ACL on the first day of camp, and the last thing the Bills need is to lose such an important player on their defense. But right now all we know is Mario is not participating in practice because something hurts. As to how serious that is only time will tell, hopefully he’s back out there this week after a few days of R&R . Maybe he never comes back at all and has to have his foot amputated due to some botched surgery gone horribly wrong.
Until we get more information I am going to continue dreaming up wild possibilities for this whole thing to go down, but I sincerely hope that this whole thing will be a distant memory come the start of the season. Get well soon Mario Williams.
