Tonight, Prime-Time, the Bills kickoff the 2013 football season at St. John Fisher college with their first training camp practice under the lights.
For the start of training camp we will look at the roster and make out our final 53 man roster prediction and see just where we stand in a couple of weeks.
Currently, coming into training camp, the Bills are carrying 86 players on their roster, this includes the PUP list and Holdout list. Going position by position we will breakdown and cut 33 players to reach our magic number and take a guess at possible practice squad keepers as well.
Offense – QB
Buffalo is only carrying 3 QBs right now, Kolb, Manuel, and Tuel. I don’t see them getting rid of any at this point unless due to injury. All three stay.
RB -The Bills are currently carrying 6 RBs on the roster. Look for them to keep at most 4 backs. Spiller and Jackson will make the team. I think that Gaskins and Zach Brown make the team. Drew Smith and Choice are released.
FB – With only 1 listed on the roster, Frank Summers makes the team.
WR – The Bills have 12 receivers listed on the roster. I can see 6 maybe 7 receivers making the team. Brad Smith and Dorin Dickerson are listed as wide-outs. Dickerson, I can see making the team because of his versatility at RB/FB and TE as well. Johnson and Graham also make the team. Goodwin and Woods make the team. Smith will only make the team if he is listed as QB and Jeff Tuel is released. Kaufman and Rogers are the other two that could make the team. This leaved Easley, Elliott, Hogan, Sampson, and Smith without a job.
TE – The Bills have 4 listed and will most likely carry 3. Chandler, Caussin, and Gragg make it. Lee Smith is released.
OL – The Bills will keep 10 lineman and currently have 16 listed. Wood, Hairston, Urbik, Pears, Legursky, Glenn and Zach Chibane make the team. Sam Young, Sanborn, and Snow squeak in.
