Keep An Eye On Kendall Gaskins During Training Camp

With players finally reporting to camp we are now less than 48 hours until we see this year’s team on the field. There are the sure camp battles that people will be watching but I like to keep an eye on battles that will have guys fighting for jobs rather than where on the roster they rank. I talked about Brian Stahovich not to long ago and now I want to take a look at Kendall Gaskins.

Gaskins agreed to terms with the Bills as an undrafted free agent on April 29th of this year. He played his college football at Richmond. He led the team in rushing in both his junior and senior year. Some stats he put up in his senior year: 11gp, 604 yards, 13touchdowns and a 4.1 yard average. The stats aren’t terrible but if you look at his stats from his junior year they are pretty similar. That to me tells me he’s consistent. He has good hands and has pretty good speed. He is also big enough to block and hold his own.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the final roster is set but this may be a guy that takes a spot. Could the Bills keep four backs? Could Tashard Choice be in trouble? We will soon see what happens as training camp is about to begin!
