Who is Brian Stahovich you might ask. He could possibly be this team’s punter come the beginning of the season. With the punter position not having any proven candidates it’s pretty much up for grabs if you ask me.
Last season after the Bills parted with long time punter Brian Moorman, Shawn Powell took center stage as their guy. Signed as an undrafted free agent he played in 13 games for the Bills last season. He averaged 44yards on 65 punts in those games. He did have some good punts throughout the season that helped out his team but also can remember many punts that made me wonder why is he on this team.
On April 18, 2013 Brian was signed by the Bills. Being released by the Colts before last season he doesn’t have any league experience but was a pretty good punter in college. He went to San Diego State and in that time he averaged 42.9 yards a punt. Also he was the third punter to earn first team all-mountain west conference accolades in at least two straight years and the first to do so at San Diego State. He could be someone to keep an eye on as Powell hasn’t really proved anything in my eyes.
While Stahovich hasn’t played an NFL game don’t count him out. I know this isn’t a popular position but people might be asking who that is when the Bills first punt this season.
