Buffalo Bills: Did You Know? Part 6

The questions that we asked yesterday, as a reminder are…

During the 2000′s there have been 4 running backs that have had over a 1000 yards for the Buffalo Bills.  Combined they have 7 1000 yard seasons.  Name the four running backs.

Joe Ferguson was the first Buffalo Bills quarterback to put up a 3000 yard season.  He did this in 1979.  Two years later, in 1981, he would become the first quarterback in team history to have two 3000 yard seasons.  No Bills quarterback has more 3000 yard seasons though than who? He has a total of  eight.

Answers:

The four running backs to have 1000 yard seasons for the Buffalo Bills during the 2000′s were; Travis Henry (2002, 2003), Willis McGahee (2004, 2005), Marshawn Lynch (2007, 2008), and Fred Jackson (2009).

The quarterback to have a total of 8 career 3,000 yard season but the time he retired was Jim Kelly.

Did You Know?

– With the Giants and the Jets both playing their home games in New Jersey, the Bills are the only team to play home games in the state of New York.

– Before the start of the 1986 season, the Buffalo Bills had signed former Colts quarterback and gambling addict Art Schlichter. He played in one preseason game but was cut shortly after the team signed future hall-of-fame quarterback Jim Kelly.
