The Buffalo Bills have been around since 1960 starting in the American Football League or the AFL. They merged with the NFL in 1970. So this means that the Buffalo Bills have been around for, this being their 53rd year. There is a lot of history that comes with 53 years and some we might not know.
We are going to be looking at some tidbits and information that some of us might just not know.
As we get ready for the start of the season, we can look back on some of the good times and maybe some of the bad times as well.
Did you know:
- Jim Kelly’s first NFL touchdown pass, his first TD pass with the Bills, was caught by running back Greg Bell.
- When Ryan Fitzpatrick hooked up with Terrell Owens on a 98 yard touchdown pass in 2009, it was the first 90+ yard touchdown pass given up by the Jacksonville Jaguars ever.
- In 1991, Thurman Thomas became the first Bills player to ever gain more than 100 yards rushing and receiving in the same game.
If you were around during the Super Bowl years you know this final one for this post…
- The Buffalo Bills are the first team to appear in 4 consecutive Super Bowls. The negative aspect of this history making fact is that we are also the only team to lose 4 consecutive Super Bowls.
