Buffalo brought in a bunch of undrafted free agents to work with the team on the off season and give these guys a chance at their dreams.
There was one particular player that has caught an eye for many. Not only in the Buffalo Bills offices but as well as 14 other camps as well. The Buffalo Bills and GM Buddy Nix went after Da’Rick Rogers, a Wide Receiver out of Tennessee Tech.
Rogers is one that shows talent and is compared to Eric Moulds on the field. Both him and Robert Woods have worked out together as well as share the same agent.
I think what is more surprising is that the Buffalo Bills actually brought in a player that was wanted by half the league and did not have to throw a ton of money at him to get him. He came on his own accord.
Buddy Nix went on to say on the John Murphy Show…
“There were 14 teams after him after the draft and we were able to get him,” said Nix. “I think there were a lot of reasons (President and CEO) Russ (Brandon) and (Senior VP of Football Administration) Jim (Overdorf) have been pretty close with his agent. Plus his agent also represents Robert Woods and they had worked out together during the pre-draft process and knew each other.
“I think Da’Rick felt comfortable here. Plus he was one of our 30 (pre-draft) visits and he sat in my office and I told him how it would be here. He can either make a living playing football or get a job. I think he understands, plus he went to dinner with our coaches here and I think he liked it.”
I like that you can see the changes here in Buffalo starting to take form. From the changes in the field house to the atmosphere as well as to the players that they have brought in and the statement by Nix about making a living football or getting a job. It has appeared that the Buffalo Bills are ready to turn the corner, we still have OTAs and training camp but both are coming up and for one I am ready to go.
