With the Buffalo Bills going QB and WR with their first two picks the Bills go to the other side of the field and select a need in the Linebacker position.  With the 46th pick the Buffalo Bills select Kiko Alonso out of Oregon.

Alonso is a 6’4 238 lb LB with a 4.74 40 yard dash.  He is notable for finding the physical nature of the game and is not afraid to get physical.  He came away with 81 tackles and 4 interception in the 2012 season for Oregon.  In his career at Oregon he was able to rack up 143 tackles, 21 which were for a loss, and 6 interceptions.

Alonso has had his problems off the field related to alcohol but he has not had any issues as of late and has really begun to mature.

The Bills have been known for taking in and trying to turn around kids that have had issues both on and off the field and have not been very successful.  There has been very minimal coverage about his issues so I don’t think that it will be that big of an issue.

I like the LB pick here as it does fill a need the Bills have.  I would look for the Buffalo Bills to take a Guard in the 3rd round to secure the major needs and begin to fill depth with their late rounds tomorrow.
