Buddy Nix Best/Worst draft pick

With reports coming that this will likely be Buddy Nix’s last year as Bills GM I wanted to take a look at his best and worst draft pick. There have been good picks that we have obtained but also picks that had fans wondering why did we do that? The two picks I selected are both on the defensive side and are not first rounder’s. With the Bills selecting early in the 1st round the last three years I chose to exclude them.

The worst pick that I think Buddy has made was selecting Torell Troup. He was selected in 2nd round of the 2010 draft (41 overall) and has had little to no impact. He still hasn’t been able to play a full season (injuries) for the Bills and has only played in 21 games total. When he has been in the lineup he has been rather ineffective having stats like 17 tackles and 0 sacks. Some players that the Bills passed on in that round were: TE Rob Gronkowski (42 overall) NE, CB Javier Arenas(50 overall) KC and ILB Brandon Spikes(62 overall) NE.

The best pick I think Nix has made not including the 1st rounder’s is Nigel Bradham. Being selected in the 4rd (105 overall) of the 2012 draft I think the Bills made a great pick. A Linebacker which they have needed for some time will replace a journeyman or other prospect that is just not cutting it. Only playing one season thus far his stats aren’t anything alarming but I think this year he will be a major part of the line backing core. Last year he finished with 16 games played, 37 tackles and 1 fumble recovery. There are reports already coming out that he will play a bigger role this season and time will tell on his real value.

These picks I believe are Buddy Nix’s worst and best and let’s hope there are more on the good side to come out next week. Remembering that Stephon Gilmore, Marcell Dareus and CJ Spiller aren’t apart of this list but by far have been the best picks. What are your thoughts?
