The Bills have officially parted ways with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Reportedly they offered him a restructured contact, but the offer was denied. The Bills had until tomorrow to make a decision before Fitzpatrick would receive his signing bonus for this season.

With the move, Tavaris Jackson is now the only quarterback on the roster. Analysis of the move will be up as soon as possible.

This was obviously in the works before the prank call fiasco today. I don’t disagree with it at all; the large contract he got was a mistake, given the poor level of talent surrounding him on this team. Best to just separate now, and use the money to keep Levitre, add affordable free agents, and pay draft picks. Good luck to Fitz; he’s a great guy, but I think this is best for all concerned.

I don’t think there’s ANY question now which position the team will be drafting for at #8, is there?

Most likely, I can’t see them not bringing in a QB though the draft now. They have some room, they can still sign some free agents as well. Cutting Fitz just puts them in a better position for the future.

Agreed. Good luck to him, though … I really do wish him well.
