According to reports, the 49ers have all but traded quarterback Alex Smith. They cannot technically trade him until the new year starts later this month. The Bills had been rumored to be interested in Smith, but it seems like they aren’t in the picture anymore.

The two teams that have been brought up are the Kansas City Chiefs and the Jacksonville Jaguars. According the Jaguars’ GM, they are not the team involved in the trade.

The Cardinals will reportedly try to get in on the conversation, but they doubt the 49ers would be interested in trading Smith there.
