The Bills announced yesterday that they have given assistant general manager Doug Whaley a new contract extension. It is expected that he will become the full GM at some point this off-season when Buddy Nix steps down from the position.
Although we haven’t really seen much of Whaley, he’s emerged since the end of the season as the future of the Bills front office. He spent 10 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the Pro Personnel Coordinator before coming to Buffalo.
Soon we might begin to see the work of the man this organization seems to have so much confidence in. Whether that confidence is warranted is still yet to be seen.
