Bart Scott A Bill?

Yesterday it was announced that the New York Jets had released linebacker Bart Scott, along with two other players. The Jets greatly underachieved last season and, like the Bills are looking to shake things up. Why are we posting about this on a Bills site? Because a Bart Scott to Buffalo scenario makes a ton of sense.

Of course, there’s the easy reason. The Bills defensive coordinator, Mike Pettine, has obvious ties to the Jets defense, serving the same position there last season. I believe the second Pettine was hired people were speculating whether or not former Jets would be coming to Buffalo. Scott has worked with Pettine in each of his 11 seasons with the Jets and the Ravens. He would understand a defensive system that Pettine described as hybrid and advanced.

With the Bills recently releasing Nick Barnett, the linebacking core is very weak. Although Scott is no pro-bowl player anymore, he could be a decent addition at a reasonable price.

Do you see Bart Scott as a reasonable addition, or would it just be more of the same from the Bills? Make sure to have your voice heard in the comment section below or on Twitter!
