Bills and Alex Smith

The Bills are reportedly one of the teams interested in Alex Smith.  Alex Smith has numbered days left as a 49er.  The 49ers will try and trade Smith but if nothing happens quickly they are ready to release him to free agency.

Does Buffalo need another journeyman quarterback for their team.  I say journeyman because he is being described as not a starters for a lot of teams but a bridge quarterback that will only plug a problem for the time being.

With Fitzpatrick already on the roster, the Bills do not need to invest anymore money into a temporary fix.  CBSSports.com has the Bills, in their latest mock draft, taking a QB either Tyler Wilson, Arkansas or Matt Barkley, Southern California depending on who you talk to.  Then there also is Nassib, who looks to be a second round pick at this point and who wants to play for his former coach Marrone.

I would be very disappointed if the Bills went after Smith and got him as it would be more of a money pit unless they are looking to get rid of Fitzpatrick.  New Offense, New Team, New QB.
