Weaver and Super Mario

Defensive Line Coach Anthony Weaver has a plan for Super Mario.  Weaver, who played along side Williams for three years in Houston and also played under Pettine in Baltimore, is now going to be on the other end and be coaching Williams.  Weaver, who is coming over with Mike Pettine from the Jets, doesn’t think it will be strange coaching a former teammate.

“I don’t think it’ll be strange at all,” Weaver told “I think our relationship having played together won’t change much at all. I think it’ll be a huge plus for us. We pushed each other as players and I think the great thing about me and him is we always an open, honest communication. I think any relationship, player-coach, coach-to-coach, it can be nothing but a positive.”

Weaver also stated that the Bills new defense will not be lacking in pressure based on the different packages that they will be providing.  This is good news for a lot of fans out there as that was one of our major faults of last year with Wannstedt was not getting any pressure across the line.
