The Bills new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine met with the media for the first time to address some of the questions about the defense that was historically bad at points last season.

Pettine is the most experienced of the new coaching staff, leading some successful New York Jet defenses over the years. He says that for the Bills to play better this season they need to be smart.

One of the major questions with a new defensive coordinator is what scheme they plan to implement. We have already seen a disastrous transition to the 3-4 that resulted in a return to the 4-3 due to lack of personnel. Pettine says they plan to run a little bit of both in a hybrid style.

The whole interview can be seen here through the Buffalo Bills website.
