As it has come down the pipe and everyone in Buffalo and BIlls fans everywhere have been wondering and in a sense hoping…Gailey has been fired. Gailey is no longer the coach for the Bills after a disappointing 6-10 season for a second straight year. With a 16-32 overall record for the Bills there was major specualtion that a move would be made concerning the front office.
What is next for the Bills and their Coaches. Looking at the few firings that have happened today in the coaching section, Andy Reid, Pat Shurmur and Lovie Smith out of Chicago, does Buffalo look to one of these guys that has been a coach and proven themselves at some point or do they look to bring in a college coach or a coordinator. Personally, I would look at Lovie Smith or Andy Reid. Smith took the bears to a 10-6 record this year and just barely missed the playoffs but only went 3-5 in his last 8 after a 7-1 start. Reid has been proven having more than a decade stint in Philly. Reid is looking at coaching in San Diego and has made that known.
I don’t think that a coordinator or college prospect is the way to go as we have been there done that before and it has not worked well. We need an immediate impact and Reid or Smith is the way to go at this point. The day is still early and there could be other prospects out there for the immediate impact.
What else is Buffalo going to do today? Do we see Wannstedt or Nix gone as well? I thikn Buffal makes another big move but it won’t be today. Look for Nix to go with an up and coming Assistant GM sitting in the wings.
